The "Surrey Air Cooled Owners Club", the Club was founded in 1985 by a small group of friendly enthusiasts, and is a member of the Association of British Volkswagen Clubs.

The Club has been attending National shows for years and regularly has a stand at local shows such as Stoner Park, Sandown and Slough swap meet. The Club has also been attending European Shows since the early 90's such as Bad Camberg (Vintage show every 4 years in Germany), Grossglockner ( Tour over the Mountain Pass where VW's were originally tested in Austria) as well as shows in France, Belgium, Holland and Switzerland.

The Club regularly organises It's own social events these include Go Karting, Skittles evening, Camping Trips, Club Show and Shine, Runs to the Beach, Croquet evening, Trips to National Trust Properties as well as holding a regular Club Night.

The club is run on a non-profit making basis, enjoying considerable success at maintaining low operating costs and subsequently low subscriptions for members.
